National Service Initiatives
Chapters of DPhi participate in a wide variety of community service projects (performance based, awareness based, mentorship based, and general service based) ranging from donation drives, food service, participation in awareness events, performing at different venues, individual and group mentoring, and much more.
Each year, the organization's national initiative, Project G.I.V.E., provides thousands of donations to families in need during the holiday season in November and December. It is our goal to reach as many people within the community as we possibly can through as many avenues as we can with items such as food, water and other beverages, clothing, winter wear, blankets, toys, and more. To donate, contact your local Chapter/Colony for more details!
The “A Mighty Roar Youth Initiative” is the brainchild of National Vice President of External Affairs (‘17-’19) Brother Darius R. Parker in the fall of 2017. Brother Parker saw a need within the organization and the community for Panthers to engage in dancers & artists 24 and under. This initiative was implemented to challenge its current members to give back and develop youth artists through mentoring, college readiness, professional world readiness and culture shifting. Brother Parker serves as the Director of Operations for the world renowned Kuumba Lynx, a hip hop arts and education non-profit organization. Brother Parker was able to witness first hand the power of youth engagement & mentoring, and transformation that happens when youth are able to have tangible, prepared, and genuine mentors. The Initiative is based off of 6 Pillars that were carved by both National President Brother Carnell Jarrell II and Brother Parker. The Pillars serve as a “Why We Do This” reminder for Panthers to be able to refer to at their leisure.
If you are a youth or young adult (between the ages 8-24) or a coach of a youth dance team in searh of a mentoring program tailored to young dancers please download and complete the Cubs Care application then submit the completed application to your local Colony/Chapter.
